The Rocketeer

taylorportraitcroppedJunior, Taylor Wensel eagerly joins the Rocketeer Newspaper staff for the 2016-2017 academic year. In addition to journalism, Taylor has many interests. She has two horses, Phoenix and London, and two miniature donkeys. London is a 16 year old Quarter Horse mare and Phoenix is an 8 year old Paint horse mare. A lot of her spare time is spent in teaching her animals tricks and riding around the yard. She also loves art, actively participating in the MCESC art show. Though she enjoys many different mediums, working with graphite is her favorite. She is constantly striving to improve her artistic abilities. She said that she spends her free time drawing and painting. Realistic drawings prove to be a fun challenge, but cartoons will always be her favorite. She aspires to grow in creative endeavors and is always working to add more detail to her artwork. Photography is another big favorite for her. Taylor enjoys creative writing and writing short stories. She doesn’t have a favorite genre when it pertains to reading, but she enjoys reading murder mysteries. She enjoyed basketball  but an injury prevented her from continuing to play for the Rockets. Taylor enjoys school at Lowellville. She states that she enjoys the environment at Lowellville School and being around the students and staff. Taylor feels that this year will be challenging but insists that she is up for the challenge.
